The Location

 

St Mawes is a very picturesque seaside village on the tip of The Roseland Peninsula, with small  cottages clustered around the harbour and beaches.  The little road follows the shore line along the sea front and up to St Mawes Castle on the headland. 

The village has small shops and galleries, two banks, a post office and several good restaurants.  There is a passenger ferry which runs across the water to Falmouth all year round.  In the summer the network of boats can take you to many other places of interest on the estuary, and down the coastline.

 

Please note: The price band for this house is S/SS and not SS as is printed in the brochure. Towels are now included free of charge at this house. Unfortunately neither professional catering nor ready meals are available at this house.


The Property

 

 ... set in south-facing landscaped gardens and with outstanding sea views over Summers Beach, Percuil River, St Anthony Headland, Falmouth Bay and out to sea, is Moonrakers, a stunning detached house in a quiet lane, 5 minutes walk from St Mawes Castle. Well-placed for coastal walks, and 10 minutes stroll from the shops and amenities of St Mawes.

Entrance porch and elegant hall. The living rooms are spacious and open-plan so each room benefits from the fabulous views to the beaches and sea. Drawing room ('living flame' gas fire) with comfortable sofas and furnishings, books, TV/DVD, DVDs, CD player and games, and large picture windows taking full advantage of the magnificent views. Living room/garden room (7’ pool table, table tennis) with sea views and 4 sets of French windows to the patio. Elegantly furnished dining room with extendable dining table seating 10. Attractive kitchen with central worktop (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, double oven/hob); utility room (washing machine, tumble drier); larder room (American-style fridge-freezer); back door and lobby for wet clothes/sandy shoes. Downstairs, shower-room (suite) and a single bedroom.

Upstairs, three bedrooms: master double (6’ bed, TV) with en suite bathroom (suite) and enormous decked balcony (electric awning) with sea view; another double bedroom (5’ bed) with doors to the same balcony and sea view; children’s bedroom with one single bed and 3' bunk beds; family bathroom (suite plus bath-shower).

The magnificent gently sloping gardens have well tended lawns, rockeries, paths, shrubs and trees with places to sit and relax in peaceful surroundings with wonderful views.

Professional catering and ready meals available. 

Moonrakers is a house of exceptional quality providing space, comfort and peace in a particularly special area of St Mawes.
