The Location

Devoran is a small village set around the upper reaches of Restronguet Creek. The A39 is the nearest main road, and it is five miles from Truro, and five miles from Falmouth.

This is a very pretty area with interesting waterside walks. The coast to coast cycle path starts nearby, and leads to Portreath on the North Coast. Devoran is a wonderful area for bird watching, photography and painting.

The "Old Quay Inn", the local pub, which serves excellent food at lunchtime and evenings is just a few minutes' walk away from Anne's Cottage.

From Devoran, it is easily possible to do a round trip incorporating St Michael's Mount, St Ives, Lands End, and the wonderful coastline of Cornwall - in a day.

It is about 30 minutes by car to the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Other wonderful gardens are in close proximity - several on the borders of The Helford River. The National Trust gardens of Trelissick are about 10 minutes away by car.

Please note: The grassy front garden has been altered to provide a new Japanese Garden.

The Property

This is a charming little Cornish cottage at the end of an attractive terrace with views of Restronguet Creek and the countryside beyond

… in Devoran, just a few minutes’ walk from the excellent pub, a charming, little end-of-terrace cottage with views of Restronguet Creek and countryside beyond. At the front, lawned garden and, at the back, sunny patio (table/chairs, barbecue) for al fresco meals.

Garden path to front door. Upstairs, living room (woodburner, TV/DVD, CD player) with fine far-reaching views of the creek; well-equipped kitchen/dining room (washing machine, tumble drier, microwave, fridge-freezer) with Welsh dresser and door to patio.

Downstairs (steepish, no stairgate), two bedrooms: a light double, and, facing the back, a small room with single bed (no wardrobe); bathroom (suite plus bath-shower).

Relaxing cottage, good base for touring and beaches.

The back door from the kitchen leads to a sunny patio with garden furniture and a BBQ - a wonderful spot for eating outside. There is also a garden at the front of the house with a lawn and shrubs.

The pub is only a few minutes walk away, but far enough away not to be disturbed in any way at Anne's Cottage.

Cautionary Deposit £60.

The front garden of Anne's Cottage is undergoing some work to isolate a clump of bamboo. This will be completed by March 2010. In the meantime, the terraces are not affected and are available for use.
