The Location

St Mawes is a very picturesque seaside village on the tip of The Roseland Peninsula, with small  cottages clustered around the harbour and beaches.  The little road follows the shore line along the sea front and up to St Mawes Castle on the headland. 

The village has small shops and galleries, two banks, a post office and several good restaurants.  There is a passenger ferry which runs across the water to Falmouth all year round.  In the summer the network of boats can take you to many other places of interest on the estuary, and down the coastline.

The Roseland Peninsula has an unspoilt coastline with sandy beaches and coastal walks - much of it is owned by The National Trust.

The Cottage

Rocklee is a comfortable and tastefully furnished detached double fronted Victorian family house just above the harbour.  The front door opens on to a pretty courtyard with flowers and shrubs.  The car parking and back door are both behind the house.

It is only a minute or so to the harbour, shops and beaches, via steps and a path.  There are sea views from most of the windows, and a beautiful view across the water from the balcony of the main bedroom.  The house is tastefully furnished and well equipped.   There is some attractive limited edition artwork on the walls.

The front entrance has a porch which leads to an extremely attractive open plan sitting room and dining room (TV, DVD, CD player).  This is beautifully furnished, and very comfortable.  The furnishings in the sitting room include a wide screen plasma television. 

The modern kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, freezer) is well equipped - a breakfast bar and fitted units.  A separate utility room (washing machine, tumble drier) with back door to outside. Downstairs shower room and WC.

Upstairs are three bedrooms (one double and two twins).  All have sea views, and are well furnished with co-ordinated soft furnishings.  From the double bedroom is a new balcony with wooden decking and balcony furniture and lovely view across the water.  Family bathroom/WC.

Outside is a small private sheltered patio with wooden stairs up to the new balcony and  garden furniture.  There is a wonderful view from here.   Steps lead up to a parking area.  Parking for one car.
