"A lovely retreat from the cares of the world."

Falmouth is a delightful waterside town with a variety of restaurants, shops, waterfront cafes and galleries.  There are golden sandy beaches on one side of the headland, and the harbour, yachts and marinas are on the other.


The Location

A network of passenger boats and ferries leave from the Town Quays to explore the spectacular coastline.   It is also possible to join fishing trips and whale and bird watching expeditions.

The state of the art National Maritime Museum is in Falmouth and is very well worth a visit.   Pendennis Castle and a golf course are also near to hand. 

Not only is Falmouth a good location for a holiday, but it  is also an excellent and convenient base for exploring West Cornwall.

Captain's Corner is at "Packet Quays" on the way into Falmouth.  (About 2 minutes walk to the Town.)

Please note: One of the adjacent apartments is currently undergoing refurbishment so there may be some intermittent noise. This isn't expected to be overly intrusive but the owner of S210 is happy to offer a 20% discount for any bookings taken between now and the beginning of September. This apartment has night storage heating, it does not have electric panel heaters.


The Cottage

Captain's Corner is very comfortable and has a spectacular sea view.  It is peaceful and relaxing, as it faces the sea not the road, yet only a few minutes walk to the little shops and restaurants of Falmouth.

The apartment is designed to make the most of the view, and has the added bonus of a large walled patio/balcony with tubs of flowers and garden furniture.  Visitors can sit and relax in wonderful surroundings.  The views extend over the Fal estuary across to Trefusis Point, and to St Mawes and beyond.  You can watch the boats sail by, or just sit and read.


The front door of Captain's Corner opens from the pavement (3 steps down from the pavement to the front door). The private car park. is just opposite.


From the front door there are (seven) stairs down into the sitting room, which is tastefully decorated and has comfortable furniture.  Flat screen digital TV and DVD.  A dining table is positioned in the window.  The kitchen is "galley-style" and is very well fitted (microwave, fridge-freezer).

Stairs (the seven stairs mentioned above, plus three more stairs into the bedroom) lead up to a gallery bedroom with a double bed (5') which also looks out to the sea. The bathroom is by the bedroom and has a bath, hand basin and WC.  There is a combination bath tap system which includes a shower - suitable for hair rinsing, etc.

The patio/balcony is reached from the sitting room.  A raised decking area has been built there, so that visitors can enjoy the view whilst seated.

Private covered parking is a few yards from the front door.

Captain's Corner is one of our favourites, and is indeed a Special Place.
