The Location

Mimosa Cottage is in Mylor "Churchtown" which is the waterfront area of Mylor.  So-called because the beautiful little church of Mylor nestles on the hillside overlooking the water.   Flushing is just 2 miles.  Falmouth is just over 3 miles, and Truro is 8 miles. 

There is a lovely waterfront area by Mylor Yacht Harbour with cafes, wine bar and restaurants.  There is also sailing tuition and boat hire.

The creekside and coastal walks around Mylor are lovely.  There a coastal walk from Mylor to Flushing  which would take about 2 hours there and back - walking fairly slowly.  Add some time if you would like to have lunch at the quayside restaurant at Flushing before the walk home.

Mylor Churchtown is a charming area to explore and relax, but it is also an easy setting off point if you wish to explore Western Cornwall.  Lands End is about 50 miles, and a round trip taking in St Ives, Penzance, etc on the way can easily be done in a day.

Mylor "Bridge" is the village at the head of Mylor Creek, and has an assortment of shops, and a pub with good food.  Another pub, the well-known Pandora Inn, is on Restronguet Creek and many visitors come here by boat. If you are going by car, you would go through Mylor Bridge and down to the creek from there.

The Cottage

From the moment you drive down the drive and see the front door, you will be captivated by this pretty detached Cornish cottage - about 200 years old and renovated to a very high standard.  It is secluded, comfortable, tastefully furnished, and has lovely views to the sea and countryside.

Park right by the cottage.  The new entrance porch to the front door leads to a hallway, and a very attractive kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave).  The dining room has a large pine table, and the kitchen is very well equipped and immaculate with attractive pastel blue mosaic tiles.

One step down to a light comfortable conservatory style sitting room (woodburner) with a large window overlooking the view, and double doors to the outside, TV/DVD.video, CD player.

There is a stylish double bedroom with doors leading to a cobbled sitting out area.  Shower room with walk in shower cubicle (electric shower), vanity unit with wash basin, WC. (Please note that there is no bath at Mimosa Cottage.)

The sofa in the sitting room can convert to a comfortable sofa bed for an occasional third person, by arrangement with the owners.

The furnishings throughout the cottage have been thoughtfully chosen and are of excellent quality.

Visitors are welcome to use the grassy paddock to sit and read in peace and enjoy the view.
